Our site has the best sports handicapping picks from the top handicappers in the world. Our handicappers have proven themselves over years and years of providing free and premium sports picks to their clients. We understand that not everyone wants to get signed up right away, so we offer a free sports picks page that lets each handicapper show off his stuff and allows the visitor to get comfortable relying on one of these experts. Once our handicappers get a new client to sign up for a premium package it is a rare occurrence that they do not stay with them for the long term. That is because they do for them what they can not do on their own and they wins more games than other lesser sports handicappers.

We know how tough it is to put the time in to research the games every day enough to come up with the winning side and or total. That is why it is well worth it for you to pay a specialist to do it for you. Not only will you have more fun by being able to sit back and relax while the games cash in, but you will also be able to win money while doing it. You don’t have to lose with your sports betting, you can win each week of the season if you are tailing the right expert. These guys put in hours and hours to make sure that they have the best plays for you to bet on. People from around the world trust them to win for them on a daily basis and they do just that.

One thing about the sports handicapping services listed on this site that you won’t find everywhere is that we are fully documented and show everyone just how we did the night before and for the entire season. Look through our site at the leaderboards and records and you will see that no matter if we are doing good or bad, we are going to tell it how it is so you get the best handicapper for you.

Good luck this year and let’s hope it’s a profitable one. I have a feeling it will be if you get signed up today!

The 2008 Indy 500 odds are now posted and it’s time to pick your winner. Bodoglife.com has the Indy 500 odds available for you to wager on as we speak. At this sports book, you can sign up for a new account and get a 10% bonus on your deposit. Click through the sports book there until you get to the 2008 Indy 500 odds so you can start making your wagers for the Sunday, May 25th race. The Indy 500 is known as the greatest spectacle in racing. It’s the biggest race held annually in the world and all racing fans will be tuning in to root for their favorite driver.

The most popular bet to make when talking about the 2008 Indy 500 odds is which driver will win the race. As we speak, the early race favorite is Scott Dixon with 11/4 odds to win. Fellow Target teammate Dan Wheldon is next in line with 4/1 odds to win the Indy 500. Both of these drivers make great teammates and have been tearing up the IndyCar Series standings this season. Each has a win already under their belt with Dixon winning the first race of the season as the GAINSCO Auto Insurance 300 at Homestead, FL. Wheldon took down the most recent IndyCar Series race at the RoadRunner Turbo 300 in Kansas City, KS. Dixon is currently No. 2 in the IndyCar Series Standings with 138 points while Wheldon is No. 3 with 135 points.

Both Dixon and Wheldon are trailing Helio Castroneves who has 144 points in the IndyCar Series standings. You may have seen Castroneves show off his dance moves on Dancing with the Stars recently. But Castroneves is listed with 5/1 odds to win the Indy 500 this weekend. You have to consider Castroneves, Wheldon and Dixon when looking to make your 2008 Indy 500 picks to win. These three studs are the face of Indy Car racing and one of the three will likely take down the Greatest Spectacle in Racing this weekend.

A few other names to look at are Danica Patrick at 9/1odds to win the Indy 500 and Marco Andretti at 8/1 odds to win. Danica finally picked up her first career win at the Indy Japan 300 on April 19th of this year. Patrick had come so close so many times with numerous Top-5 and Top-10 finishes in just over 50 career starts before finally breaking through this year. She is a fan-favorite and mostly all women racing fans will be cheering her on Sunday. Andretti comes from a great blood line and has had his fair share of success in Indy Car racing throughout his young career. Andretti is only going to get better as he learns more and more with each race he enters.

Beat the 2008 Indy 500 odds this weekend by picking the winner on Sunday, May 25th. Check out leading sportsbook BodogLife to find the best odds available for the driver of your choice. This will help you earn more bang for your buck once you have selected the winner of the 2008 Indy 500 this weekend!

When we evaluate the handicappers whose online sports picks we recommend on this site we take the five major American sports into account. Most Americans bet on the NFL, NBA, baseball, and college football and basketball. Even though there are some people out there who bet on hockey, it’s a minority of the sports betting crowd. Thus, we have articles written about NHL betting, but this ability was not factored into our recommendations. Additionally, most of the free sports picks listed with the monitors on this site will focus on those five major sports, but occasionally will give you some help on the ice.

So what are you going to want to look for when choosing a handicapper to purchase online sports picks from? We wanted to find guys who were honest, reliable, and could consistently produce. Not everyone wins every day, so after a bad day did the sports handicappers pony up to their losses and vow to work harder, or did they try to ignore and promote their one winning pick, seemingly to forget about the four sports gambling picks that lost. These guys don’t do that. For reliability you are going to want a handicapper to produce his picks at the same time every day, and at a time you will be able to access the selections. What does consistent winning mean? Well if you lose ten in a row and come back with fifteen wins you might be hitting 60%, but you broke most of your clients in the process. These guys produce steady numbers all season long, and do not have losing droughts in any one season. If you can’t handicap one of the sports above, you aren’t going to be listed on the site.

We hope this explanation will help you find the online sports picks that are right for you, and keep checking back for more updates all through the year.

These are general rules for sports betting. All rules will vary from sportsbook to sportsbook so be sure to check your sportsbook rules.

GENERAL:
All sporting events must be played on the scheduled day unless otherwise specified. Sporting events postponed and then rescheduled, will automatically constitute a no action wager, and all money will be refunded accordingly.
BASEBALL:
Winners and losers are official after 5 innings of play unless the home team is leading after 4½ innings. If a game is called, or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning (unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game called.)Monies will be refunded if the home team ties the game and it is then suspended. Events will not carry over to the following day (unless otherwise specified).
Sportsbooks do not rocognize suspended games, protest, overturned decisions, etc, for wagering purposes, and all wagers must go the day written, otherwise there is not action and all monies are refunded.

SPECIAL BASEBALL RULES:
A)Whan wagering on total runs (OVER/UNDER) the game must go 9 innings (8½ IF THE HOME TEAM IS AHEAD)to have action. If a game is called or suspended, the score will be determined after the last full inning (UNLESS THE HOME TEAM SCORE TO TIE, OR TAKES THE LEAD IN THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE INNING, IN WHICH CASE THE SCORE IS DETERMINED AT THE TIME THE GAME IS CALLED).Rules for the run line wagers are the same as those for baseball totals.Wagers on totals runs will be refunded if a pitcher change occurs prior to both listed pitchers throwing at least one pitch.
B)Baseball wagers will be accepted in the following manner: 1) ACTION – Team agains team, regardless of the starting pitcher. 2) ONE SPECIFIED PITCHER – This is a wager on or agains one specified pitcher, regardless of the other starting pitcher. 3) BOTH SPECIFIED PITCHERS – If starting pitchers are not exactly as listed on wagering display board, and/or your ticket, your wager will be deemed NO ACTION .
Note: In the event there is a pitching change prior to the game, money odds may be adjusted. If one scheduled pitcher starts agains an unscheduled pitcher, ACTION wagers will be computed by the opening price with the new pitcher.A pitcher is deemed a starting pitcher after throwing one pitch.
NFL AND COLLEGE:
NFL and college football games must go 55 minutes to have action. All wagers on the side & total will include all overtime scoring.
College football overtime procedure:
College football overtimes commence with a 1st & 10 play at the opponents 25-yard line. The offensive team keeps possession until they score, commit a turnover or fail to convert on 4th down. The overtime continues until the score is no longer tied and each team has had an equal number of possessions.
BOXING:
The following is the correct ruling in boxing involving a draw. When a draw is on the board as one of the options available to wager on and the fight ends in a draw, that sportsbook pays only those who bet a draw. However, if a draw was not available at a sportsbook, then all monies are refunded. Sportsbooks who did not carry a draw as an available betting proposition are obligated to refund all wagers. Sportsbooks which offered the draw, pay only on the draw and do not refund any wagers on either fighter. The exception to this would be when a draw is listed as a SEPERATE wager. For example, a draw listed with other boxing betting propositions such as choosing what round a fighter will be KO’d in, or a fighter by decision or KO, etc.
AUTO RACING:
The Official NASCAR winner of the race shall be the winner of the race for wagering purposes.
GOLF:
In the event a tournament does not go the specified number of completed holes (usually 72), and the tournament is shortened by PGA officials, the leader at the end of number of holes determined to be official by PGA officials shall be the winner. If a wager is taken on a matchup for the overall tournament, both golfers MUST tee off for action. In the event that one player or the other is disqualified or withdraws, the other golfer will be the winner of the matchup. In the event a matchup is taken on a round by round basis (1st Round, 2nd Round, 3rd Round, etc) or (1st and 2nd rounds, or 3rd and 4th rounds), both golfers MUST tee off for action, and in the event that a wager is taken on the 1st and 2nd (or the 3rd and 4th rounds) for the same two players, and the player tees off in the 3rd round, and then withdraws, the player remaining would be the winner of that matchup in the 3rd round, and there would be NO action on the 4th round wager (since one of the two players withdrew).
SOCCER:
The winner for wagering purposes for both side & total is determined by the final score after 90 minutes and any over time. The penalty kick or shoot out round is not included.

If sports gambling picks are what you are looking for then this site is going to be your mecca. We have rounded up some of the best handicappers on the internet today and the best sportsbooks in the world to place your bets in. Also on the site are free sports picks and betting articles that are going to help you win more money with your own handicapping.

So how do we find the handicappers with the best sports gambling picks? One of the biggest things we looked for was they had to have a free picks newsletter. This is important because then you can view their picks before you buy, find out what they have going, and see how they react after losing days. We want you
to be informed before you make your decision, and daily newsletters are a great way for you to keep informed as to how they are performing before making a commitment to them.

For sportsbooks we love fast payouts, tons of deposit options, betting specials, solid customer service, and of course, big deposit bonuses. If your book doesn’t fit this criteria, find one that will over on the right hand side of this page and then never sweat another payout again.

Visit the free sports picks pages on the site to monitor a lot of handicapping services all on one screen. This will help you quickly find a couple big names to investigate further. Or if you want to make your own predictions then read through our list of articles so you can be a more intelligent bettor this season.

If you are going to win with your gambling, then you will need to follow these sports wagering guidelines. It will be easy to fall into traps, and it takes discipline to end up on top for the year.
To be a successful and profitable sports bettor you must always have a long term goal or objective. Set that standard before your wagering campaign begins and set aside fairly substantial bankroll that uses a consistent incremental amount for the vast majority of your wagers.

A conservative and appropriate, amount would be one to two percent of your allocated bankroll and absolutely no more than three percent of your bankroll.

This might seem a little on the low side, but believe me, over the course of what will be a turbulent battle with the books to picks winners against the spread you will be happy that you practiced good money management and frugality.

The above guidelines do not take into consideration a combination of factors that will also help you along the way and I have included them below.

1. Consistently shop for your best possible lines (rogue lines) from the most reputable sources.

2. Stay disciplined and do not stray from recommended bankroll allocation on individual wagers. Chasing your wagers whether you are on a winning or losing streak is absolutely forbidden under my by betting methodology.

3. Always keep in mind that your bankroll is your life line (working capital) and must be treated the same way you would treat finances that are allocated for any business venture.

4. Buy off the hook on key numbers.
5. Understanding the importance and the art of middling.

6. Keep a record of all your wagers and results and use them as part of over all statistical data base.

These are some important factors that will help you in your quest for long term profits. I leave you with a thought from the late great Jimmy the Greek.

The house does not beat the player, it just gives him the opportunity to beat himself.

Money management is the number one reason why most sports gamblers lose and is just as important as picking winners. You might be a good handicapper but without proper money management you will fall in the catagory of a number of bettors who can pick games with consistancy but also lose with just as much consistancy.

You must start with a bankroll, or the amount of money you have set aside for gambling and can comfortably lose without affecting your lifestyle. For this demonstration we will use $5000 as our starting bankroll. Next you must select the amount of your Unit wager. We recommend using 2% of the bankroll as a unit wager. $5000 X .02 = $100. $100 would be the amount you wager on each game. You will eventually go through losing streaks so wagering 2% of your bankroll will allow you to keep wagering through it. The final step is to safely increase you wagers as your bankroll increases.

As your bankroll increases, you would also increase the amounts of each unit wager. Use 20% increments or 10 units. 10 X .02 = 20%. Simply put using the $5000 starting figure, you would increase your unit play to $120 after you won 10 units. Your bankroll would be $6000. Therefore $6000 X .02 = $120. Your wagers would then stay at $120 until you hit the next level or dropped back down to the $5000 mark. A drop down would result in a $100 bet, and an increase to the next level, ($120 X 10 units = $1200 + 6000 = $7200) would result in a $150 bet,($7200 X .02 = $144 or $150). It is important to note that you always round up to the nearest $10. Your bet size is increasing but your overall risk remains the same. Let’s look at the different level of results using this system.

Level of Results Based on +10 Unit Increments

By increasing your bet size at predetermined levels without increasing your risk you can safely build a nice bankroll. Let’s take a look at the results of a person who started with $5000, and used this system.

At +130 for the year you are still betting just 2% of your total bankroll. Your risk is the same as you started. You are simply taking advantage of an increasing bankroll. The key is the predetermined levels of increase.

You must be patient in the beginning and you must be ready for some rough rides along the way. Of course at some point you will reach a level on your unit bet that you feel comfortable with and you should stop increasing your wagers and start dragging money from your account. That, of course, is when the fun begins. Best of luck

Some people think that investing in sports would be a dream job. These people do not realize that handicappers go through constant ups and downs throughout the season as they are grinding out season-ending profits.

Many gamblers and most fans, players, and coaches, offer causal explanations for long runs of good or bad sports performances. Financial analysts are quick to offer explanations for the up and down performance of the stock market and the investment they have bought into and have recommended to clients.

The records of professional bettors and public handicappers and stock market day traders and investment gurus show the same variable successes and failures. As does the performance of the teams and stocks they both back, for financial gain! Both investment opportunities show significant variables, and both to some extent can be considered decipherable, thus giving the investor an advantage!

If proper research and time is taken to consider all the pertinent facts of investing in particular stock or wagering position, than a long term profit is more than attainable over an extended or applicable period of time!

It may seem like I’m making comparisons between apples and oranges when talking about sports betting and investing in the stock market! But the truth of the matter is, both situations need the man behind the bet to have made an in depth study, of all of the key statistical data, company employees or team/player personal and their management and ownership and their past performances! Both must usually either show the ability for upward momentum, or show the ability as a whole to fulfill your belief in them as solid proposition at the price being asked!

However, betting on sports is a far safer vehicle for growing profits. It’s even better than the stock market, because the investor/bettor has much more control over his funds. You can take a short break, and almost always know your bankroll has not been untouched. Conversely, in the markets, you are leaving your 401K and other mutual investments in the hands of a volatile marketplace. In addition, you are being torched for huge handling fees by brokers on individual investments that would make sports books mangers drool.

I am not saying it is easy making a living from sports betting. However the two to three percent of the population that do consistently beat the books have a much better rate of return over the long haul than that of any market investor!

This is the outlook I have on every wager I place in the sports wagering markets. I take my portfolio very seriously and if you want to start investing in sports you will have to as well!

No stone is left unturned in Alex Smart’s quest to bring top selections to his customers! Alex understands that many of you are busy professionals or entrepreneurs who are looking for viable investment opportunity while enjoying your favorite sports and your success is important to him. Alex will begin posting his NFL and MLB Picks at Vegas Experts on Monday, August 21st!
