Free NFL Picks 11/16/2008
November 16, 2008
Sunday the name of the game is football with a monster week in the NFL. Let’s find out what our hottest NFL handicappers have posted as their free picks today.
First up is Dave Price, who continues to dominate the ranks in both college football and the NFL! Here’s Dave’s free pick for Sunday:
1 Unit FREE PLAY on Indianapolis Colts -8
The Texans are 0-4 on the road this season and also 0-3 in division games. Since a slow start, the Colts are now 5-4 and have won back-to-back games over the Pats and the Steelers. After coming very close to an earlier season loss at Houston before rallying late to win, you can expect the Colts to buckle down and end this one early. Indy has won 12 of the last 13 meetings and is a perfect 6-0 at home against Houston during that span. The Texans are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 1-11 ATS in road games after playing a game at home over the last 3 seasons. Lay the points.
Our second biggest free pick gomes from Alex Grosse. Alex is off to a hot start ever since joining our team and he’s looking to build his bankroll and yours during the rest of the season. Here’s his free play of the day:
This is a matchup featuring two teams that put up a lot of points on the board and allow a lot of points to the opposition. The Saints are averaging 26.2 points per game, ranking 8th in the NFL. Drew Brees is on fire already throwing 17 touchdowns and leading the league with 2985 yards. The Chiefs are one of the worst defensive teams in the league, allowing an average of 27 points per game and 406.2 yards to the opposition.
The Chiefs offense has been a lot more productive as of late. Tyler Thigpen has been playing better every game. Kansas City is averaging only 16.1 points per game but scored an average of 24.67 points over its last three. Thigpen threw 7 touchdowns for 710 yards down that stretch. Additionally, running back Larry Johnson will be back in the mix. He has been averaging 4.5 yards per carry. The Chiefs will put up big numbers against New Orleans’ weak defense. The Saints are allowing an average of 348 yards and 25.4 points per game ranking 24th in the league in each category. They are even worse on the road allowing an average of 31.75 points to the opposition.
The trends indicate that this will be a high scoring game. Over is 8-2 in K.C.’s last 10 home games and 4-1 in its last 5 home games against a team with a losing record. Additionally, over is 11-2-1 in New Orleans’ last 14 games overall and 7-1 in its last 8 against a team with a losing record.
Expect this to be an exciting back and forth game with a lot of offense. The total is high but the way that these two teams play, it is quite likely that they will break it.
Third on our list is Jay Todd. Jay continues to impress in every sport he handicaps and the NFL is no excpetion. This week he’s ready to score some major winners in his premium package, and here’s his free pick for this Sunday:
The Broncos are coming a big come from behind victory of Cleveland and are still in the playoff hunt. Denver has a high scoring offense that can move the football against any team in the NFL. If you look at the Falcons schedule they really have not beat any solid teams (playoff-caliber) by this margin. Expect the same result against Denver.
Jay Cutler faces an Atlanta defense that has struggled against the pass. They allow 228 yards per game, but against pass-happy teams they have shown some weakness. Cutler has thrown for 2,616 yards and 18 touchdowns already this season. Denver is going to throw all day, as they attempt 38.4 passes a game. Their high potent offense will be able to keep them in this game.
Denver will look to make it two in the row. This game has the making to be a shootout, so expect it to be within a touchdown. Play Denver +6.5 over Atlanta.
Good Luck!
