Chicago Cubs at St. Louis 7:45 ET

Cardinals over Cubs - There are few  things more intense in all of sports than the rivalry between two old National League franchises as when the Cubs and Cardinals go at it. There was a time when Chicago had two football teams one named the Bears the other is the Cardinals. I have witnessed this first hand in both cities their intensity. In 1986 when traveling with the Mets during the regular season when New York was playing at Wrigley Field I was overwhelmed by the signs mostly Tee-shirts being worn by the Cubs fans displaying their feelings toward the Cardinals. I had to laugh and then totally understood it when during the NL playoffs in St. Louis I saw the Cardinals fans doing the same concerning their feelings about the Cubs and this was a playoff game against the Mets in St. Louis. Yeah. so what! So, I at least I believe that we will get the best from both sides. St. Louis has won 4-of-6 meetings this season and now they are a home underdog against David Peterson (2-1, 5.57 ERA) with Chicago after going 3-6, 6.09 with the Mets. St. Louis will start Matthew Liberatore (5-7, 5.18). Both of these guys probably won’t be around to long. Play OVER!

Atlanta at New York Mets 7:10 ET

Mets over Braves - New York over the years have always it seems to produce young pitching phonemes their problem cone from giving them away even to this day. I could start with Nolan Ryan and mention others up to Zack Wheeler and now the seem to have another crop and Zac Thornton ( 1-1, 1.93 ERA) may be one of them. In his limited ed career chances he has pitched 23.4 innings surrendering only 14 hits with 3-1 ratio of K’s to BB.  Atlanta will counter with Martin Perez (6-6, 3.38)1who has been the most difficult of the Braves pitchers to hit allowing just 66 safeties in 86 innings. Play METS!
