Maryland made a statement in its tournament opener, dismantling Grand Canyon by 32 points. The Terrapins have been remarkably consistent all season, with their only three losses in their last 16 games coming by a combined seven points. That level of resilience should serve them well against a Colorado State squad that is riding an impressive 11-game SU and ATS winning streak but has faced a weaker overall schedule.

The Rams had to grind out a tough win over Memphis on Friday, and I expect them to have a tough time matching the Terrapins' depth and physicality here. Look for Maryland to impose its will and advance with a convincing victory.

We really like the underdog in this matchup. The number looks a bit off when you consider that the Blazers just upset St.Josephs on the road. UAB are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games played in March. UAB was first in the American in scoring, averaging over 82 points per game this season.

The Duke Blue Devils are the best team in the country.  They won the ACC Tournament even without the best player in the nation in Cooper Flagg, and I think playing without him allowed the rest of their team grow together.  It's only going to benefit them as they move forward in the NCAA Tournament.

Flagg returned and looked completely back to full strength in scoring 14 points and grabbing 7 rebounds in 22 minutes in a 93-49 win over Norfolk State in the Round of 64.  The Blue Devils improved to 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall with 10 wins by double-digits during their current 12-game winning streak.

Baylor has really struggled when taking a step up in class this season.  The Bears' 75-72 win over Mississippi State was their first win against a NCAA Tournament team since a home win over Kansas on February 1st.  In fact, they have just two wins against NCAA Tournament teams since the calendar turned to 2025.

We have seen Baylor get blasted in road/neutral games against top teams.  They lost by double-digits to Houston, Texas Tech, Arizona, Iowa State, Tennessee and Gonzaga in road/neutral games while going 0-6 ATS in those contests.  I don't see it going any differently for them against the best team in the country in the Blue Devils today.  Bet Duke Sunday.

The New Mexico Lobos are a legit team from the Mountain West.  The Lobos proved it with a 75-66 win over Marquette, and they have the good to give Big Ten regular season champion Michigan State a run for its money.  I've always felt that the Spartans are vulnerable this season.  They just aren't a very good shooting team ranking 316th in 3-point percentage at 31.1%.  We saw it bite St. John's yesterday, and it will eventually bite the Spartans.  The Lobos rank 19th in defensive efficiency this season as their ability to defend is flying under the radar.  They also have one of the best guards in the country in Donovan Dent (20.6 PPG, 6.4 APG, 40.9% 3-pointers) who is built for the NCAA Tournament.  They have an elite big man in Nelly Joseph (14.1 PPG, 11.1 RPG) who can hold his own inside against the Spartans.  Give me New Mexico.

With all respect to the Oregon Ducks, they are not the same team they were last March when they met the Arizona Wildcats, and took them down, 67-59 as a 12-point underdog. Prior to that matchup, Arizona took the three previous meetings, both straight up and against the spread. The Ducks enter this matchup running hot, there's no denying that. They are on a 9-1 straight up run, covering six of those nine outings. They did cruise in the first round over Liberty, 81-52. Arizona did struggle recent weeks. They are just 6-4 straight up, and 5-5 against the spread their last 10 contests. But they seem to have turned it up this postseason. They took down such notables as Kansas and Texas Tech, and just devoured Akron two days ago. These two teams know each other well. But I just don't see the lackluster Ducks offense trying to compete on the scoreboard with the explosive Wildcats "O," which it counts for over 82.0-points per game. You'll also see Oregon at a big disadvantage on the boards at both ends of the court here. Arizona will allow themselves quite a few second-chance opportunities offensively, and take away their opponents second-chance opportunities defensively.
